This year, 2023, is synonymous with transformation for Finance For Tomorrow: on January 1, we became the Institut de la Finance Durable, and today we are proud to present our new logo. In order to pursue and accelerate our action, we’re counting on your mobilization!

The aim of this transformation is to federate and amplify the actions undertaken by French financial institutions and companies in the marketplace to achieve the energy and environmental transition.

By mobilizing new players, including members of Paris EUROPLACE, the IFD’s vocation is indeed to accelerate the development of the ecosystem to make the Paris financial center a benchmark in the world in terms of implementing sustainable finance and financing the transition. The actions and work launched by Finance for Tomorrow will be continued, while expanding the scope of the Institute for Sustainable Finance. In addition to Impact, Biodiversity, Just Transition, fintechs and education, training and research, a new climate priority will be added through the workstreams of the Perrier report: financing solutions for the ecological transition, CO2 accounting by branch of activity, standardization of extrafinancial analysis methods, governance recommendations on carbon externality management…

The objectives of the IFD are:

Define and implement the financing plan for the ecological transition

Federate and accelerate the actions of the Paris financial center to make sustainable finance the new benchmark

Lead a permanent dialogue between financial institutions, companies and public authorities to serve the transformation of the economy

Make the Paris financial center an international benchmark for sustainable finance

The 5 priorities for 2023 :

Financing the transition: development of innovative financial solutions to meet the massive financing needs of the ecological transition

CO2 accounting: harmonization of scope 3 measurement and active contribution to the development of European and international reporting standards

ESG analyses: development of a common, transparent methodological corpus for ESG and climate analysis and performance

Climate governance: promotion of new governance practices that take greater account of ESG and climate issues

Fossil fuel trajectory for financial institutions: definition of a reference scenario for the marketplace and clarification of investors’ expectations with regard to corporate transition plans.

The IFD is also pursuing its missions in the marketplace: the Observatoire de la Finance Durable (Sustainable Finance Observatory ) and the secretariat of the SRI label committee. The entire team remains at your disposal, and we will get back to you as soon as possible to present the details and progress of the IFD’s work.
